Many teachers may remember this activity from
their own childhoods. It is usually played with a jump rope. (Two students
turn the jump rope, while another performs the actions described.) In the
ESL setting, you may play it with jump rope out of doors or perform the actions
as a class indoors. (The jump rope variation may be too difficult for
very young students.)
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Turn around.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Touch the ground.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Show your shoe.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
That will do!
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Go upstairs.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Say your prayers.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Switch off the light.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Say "Good night!"
