A nest is a home for a robin. (Cup hands to form nest.)
A hive is a home for a bee. (Cap one hand over the other to form a hive.)
A hole is a home for a rabbit. (Use both hands to form a circle.)
And a house is a home for me. (Put fingertips together to form triangular roof.)

Teaching Tips:

• Print pictures of various animals and their homes. Review names of animals and learn the names of their homes.
  
  
• Practice matching pictures of animals with pictures of their homes. More advanced students may match written names of animals with pictures of their homes.
  
  
• Have students draw pictures of their homes and take turns telling about them. Introduce or review common home vocabulary (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc.).
  
  
• Read the book Houses and Homes and discuss how homes differ in various parts of the world.
